Somewhere in your camera’s menu is a setting that decides how much control you’ll have over your photos later: RAW or JPEG. It sounds technical, but the choice is really about a trade — how much editing freedom you want versus how much storage and effort you’re willing to spend. What a JPEG is

A JPEG is a finished picture.
